A heritage visualisation study for the listed retail units at Oxford Circus House, developed in collaboration with Transport for London's heritage advisor to explore the restoration of Sir Leslie Green's iconic 1906 station façade. Drawing on archive photography and historical research, the proposals included repairs to the distinctive oxblood faience, fenestration and entrance doors, the introduction of traditional shopfronts inspired by the station's original metalwork detailing, the reinstatement of the historic gilt railway company lettering to the upper façade, and period-appropriate lamp fittings to enhance the building's architectural character. The imagery helped demonstrate how the building's heritage significance could be celebrated while creating an attractive commercial destination for future occupiers.
A small selection of the period source material we drew on, from photographs of the original shopfronts and signage to a hand-rendered watercolour of the corner elevation. These set the bar for the proposed restoration.
